Recall Details

Plant City, FL -- July 22, 2004 -- Marjon Specialty Foods, Inc. of Plant City, FL is recalling Marjon Living Alfalfa Sprouts in 6 oz. plastic containers and Brassica Broccoli Sprouts Salad Blend in 4 oz. plastic containers because the products may be contaminated with Escherichia coli 0157:H7 bacteria (E. Both sprout products were distributed to supermarkets in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Both products have a use by date of 08-02-04.

No illnesses have been reported to date. The recall was initiated after irrigation water, used during production of the products, was found contaminated.

Consumers who may have purchased the products are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions concerning this recall may contact the company at 1-800-808-86738 and ask for John Miller or Tim Mitchell.
