Problem/Hazard
An internal microphone wire under the palm rest can short circuit and overheat. This poses a potential burn hazard to consumers.

Injuries/Incidents
Acer has received three reports of computers short circuiting, resulting in slight melting of the external casing. No incidents occurred in the United States. No injuries have been reported.

Description
The recalled notebook computer models are the Acer AS3410, AS3410T, AS3810T, AS3810TG, AS3810TZ and AS3810TZG. The computer's screen size is about 13.3 inches measured diagonally. Not all units are affected. Consumers should contact Acer to determine if their unit is included in the recall.

Remedy
Consumers should stop using the recalled notebook computers immediately and contact Acer to determine if their notebook is affected and to receive a free repair.

I don't think my problem is related to this specific recall. But I have a burn fire hazard that seems to be the battery.
There is no way to report a hazard to them if the product is out of warranty. It is not on a previous recall list. I agree with the others, this is the worst company. I didn't think so until this incident. They are so liable.

We have called the phone number several times to request RMA number to get our recalled laptop fixed, but we were told that we would get call back in a few days. But We still did not get call back.

Since our laptop has been out of warranty, we did not have chance to talk to live person to address the recall issue. Please let us know how to resolve the recall issue.
